Asset Tracking

Our Asset tracking platform is based on opensource and as such has one of the largest databases of know devices and protocols.

Step 1: Download the Traccar Smartphone Client

Step 2: Configure the app

Once the app has downloaded and been installed. Open it!

You will be presented with a screen similar to the image alongside.

You will receive an unique Device identifier take note of this number as you will need this number when adding your smartphone to our tracking application.

Server URL field must be changed to http://tracker.iotci.co.uk:5055

All other settings can be tweaked later if you like, however we would recommend leaving as is while you get started.

Frequency – frequency of reporting location in seconds
Distance – distance (in meters) after which device reports location
Angle – direction change (in degrees) after which device reports location

NOTE: The more frequent/accurate you modify these settings will result in the application requiring more power and as such you could experience your battery draining faster than usual.

Step 3: Register your account.

Click “Register” below to register an account and get started.

Step 4: Add your device to your account

Click on the + button in the top left corner

Fill in a unique name for your device,

In the Identifier field, input the Device identifier number from step 2 above.

Step 5: Activate the location reporting

On the smartphone, open the application again and make sure that the “Service Status” button is on.

You have now activated your demo.
