Our LoRaWAN radon monitor is now available to order

Project

Our own LoRaWAN radon monitor is now developed, and we’re taking orders.

Radon is a natural radioactive gas, and the second biggest cause of lung cancer after smoking. It is usually checked with a passive detector left in a room for three months and then posted to a laboratory, which gives a single average figure, months after the event. Our monitor measures continuously, so you can see what is happening now: overnight peaks, the effect of ventilation, and whether remediation has worked.

  • Plug in and go. Mains powered, so it reports frequently for years with no batteries to change.
  • Works on any LoRaWAN network. We supply decoders and an integration guide for ChirpStack, The Things Network and Helium, or it can run on our own network and platform.
  • Built to the standards. Designed for CE and UKCA marking, the ISO 11665 radon measurement standards and LoRa Alliance certification.
  • Readings you can act on. Live radon levels in Bq/m³, long-term averages to compare with action levels, and alerts when a threshold you set is passed.

It suits employers with a duty to manage radon in the workplace, landlords and housing providers, schools and public buildings, and homeowners in high-radon areas, from a single room to a whole estate.
