Sensor and device development

When an off-the-shelf sensor fits, we integrate it. When nothing on the market does, we build it. Either way, the device arrives on the network ready to use.

Our LoRaWAN radon monitor, now available

Radon is usually checked with a passive detector left in a room for three months and posted to a laboratory. We have developed our own plug-in LoRaWAN radon monitor, and we are taking orders now. It reports around the clock, so property owners can see what is happening now: overnight peaks, the effect of ventilation and whether remediation has worked.

  • Product specified by us and developed with a manufacturing partner
  • Mains powered: frequent readings for years, no batteries to change
  • Designed for CE, UKCA, ISO 11665 and LoRa Alliance certification
  • Integration guide and decoders for ChirpStack, The Things Network and Helium
  • Live dashboards, long-term averages and threshold alerts

From idea to fleet

How we take a new device into service.

  1. Start with the problem

What do you need to know, how often, and what will you do about it? The answer decides the sensor, not the other way round.

  2. Prototype

A working device on the bench and then in the field, built on proven LoRa and ESP32 boards, often within days.

  3. Firmware

Low-power firmware that sleeps between readings, joins the network reliably and recovers on its own after a power cut or a lost signal.

  4. Payload and decoder

A compact message format, and a decoder that turns each uplink into named readings and device health.

  5. Onboarding at scale

Device profiles, keys and provisioning so units can be deployed, swapped and replaced in quantity.

  6. Dashboards and alerts

Live readings, history and alerts by SMS, email or phone, in your system or ours.

What we bring

LoRa and ESP32 hardware

Heltec, CubeCell, LilyGO and ESP32 boards; ultrasonic distance, temperature probes, pulse counting, voltage and environmental sensors.

Firmware

Arduino and RadioLib for LoRaWAN, ESPHome for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices, with careful attention to power, joins and nonce handling.

Any LoRaWAN device

We write and maintain decoders for off-the-shelf sensors from Dragino, Milesight, Elsys, RAK and many others, so they work on day one.

Cellular devices

4G trackers and telematics units configured and updated over the air, on multi-network IoT SIMs.

Bluetooth and local radio

Bluetooth Low Energy presence and plant sensors, Zigbee and Z-Wave, bridged to the network through small local hubs.

Field diagnostics

Purpose-built diagnostic firmware for each sensor type, so problems in the field are found quickly and fixed once.
