Our story
In March 2020, COVID-19 turned everyone's world upside down, and IoT CI was born.
After more than twenty years consulting for global mobile operators, and a move to Jersey, our founder set out to apply that experience to the Internet of Things, where a new wireless technology had arrived that was stable, fit for purpose and royalty-free: LoRaWAN.
We started by solving problems for homes and small businesses on the island. Today we design and run estate-wide LoRaWAN networks, develop our own sensors, track fleets and run platforms used by operators and businesses. We work across the Channel Islands, the UK and Europe, and we still start every project the same way: with the problem, not the gadget.

Founder
Jonathan (JJ) Anderson
Founder and Managing Director
JJ has spent more than 25 years in mobile telecommunications and M2M/IoT, starting in 2001 as a solution consultant for mobile data and machine-to-machine services at MTN in South Africa. Since then he has delivered products and programmes for mobile operators, banks, retailers, broadcasters, regulators and government, in South Africa, the UK, Europe and the Channel Islands.
He held the position of interim Director of the EU working group for Policy and Regulation in IoT at the GSMA, the global body representing mobile operators, before moving to Jersey in 2015. At JT he launched the first commercial LoRa network in the British Isles, and he founded IoT CI to bring that experience to businesses of every size.

Problem first
Only after we understand the use case do we recommend a solution. We would rather solve the right problem with a simple device than force a shiny gadget to fit.
We use what we sell
The networks, devices and platforms we recommend are ones we run ourselves, every day.
Local and hands-on
Based in Jersey, with on-site surveys, installation and support, and the reach to deliver further afield.
Technology we work with
Let's talk about your project
Tell us what you need to know, measure or track. We'll suggest the right devices, network and platform, and can start with a small proof of concept.
